ALL BOY

The play group that boys and I are a part of met at a park with week! The weather is finally a little cooler.  Still in the 80's so plenty hot but much cooler than the 100 plus degree weather we were having!
There was a week long camp that is going on at the park we met at.  There is a program that is new to Iowa but that has been around since the 70's called Skyhawks that was putting on a sports camp.
They did a little basketball, baseball (tee ball) and soccer.
All the boys in the group were so excited about all the great equipment!! And the instructors of the camp did not mind them exploring everything!! They even let the boys get in on the tee ball game! It was so cute, and something that I will have to tuck away for once Judson is 5!! The program just runs for 5-12 year olds.

Made me realize that Judson would LOVE a baseball set!

Only 24 hours in a day!!

There are only 24 hours in a day, and I know that there are many hours that I could use more productively but all the same I just do not know how to fit everything in!! I already have a cleaning schedule, certain days that I clean certain things.  We also have certain days that we do other things, laundry, play group, grocery shop, library time...these do change a little but are pretty consistent.  Then I am having to figure out when to schedule in time to work out, because this lovely baby weight is not wanting to leave.  And I am sure that has nothing to do with my eating habits.  :) But I can not work out when the boys are around because they are to interested in what I am doing and so then I can no do it, or they are getting into things they are not supposed to and then I can not work out! Oh and then there is finding time to do a personal bible study, and not just to check it off my list of to dos but to actually be able to get something out of it!! But I am staying home with my boys that I can be the ones to do things with them and expose them to things, not just have a clean house.  But when does it all get done!!

I know this is something that all moms struggle with and it is something that I feel I have a better grip on at time and then less of at others.  I guess this is just a less time!!

There is just so much going on in life and with our schedule that lately I always feel one step behind of where I need and want to be!!

Going Crazy??

No I am not going crazy and I am doing fine with life!! (Incase you were worried about my last post) But I just find it so funny how detailed almost my day needs to be.  And I know that I am an organized, list, task oriented person anyway but wow!! I just feel like life has to be so scheduled out almost to make sure that everything gets done.  But for me that is how it works best, or it will not get done!! I would never have time for myself if I did not have time scheduled in.
Now by no means does this mean that we have lost all spontaneity or flexibility.  Things come up and we change and go with the flow, but for the most part I have a lot of schedule to my life, even if it is not obvious to the rest of the world!

Another Trip to Dysart

The boys and I went to go see my parents for a weekend and my dad LOVES to play golf, so while we were there we all drove out the the gold course.  Judson had fun putting on the putting green.  Although I can no say much for his accuracy! :)  He did have a good time, it just did not last very long!

Lawson just sat off the the side was relaxing in the shade with Grandma Dee.
My dad is a volunteer ambulance driver and was able to take us down and show us the ambulances and tell us a little more about what he does. My niece Rylee was also there.

Judson liked being able to see the inside and I am sure would have really loved to go mess with everything inside if he had been given the chance! :) He kept asking what everything was for.
Trying to get Lawson in on the action, but he wanted a little more action than just a picture being taken!

Dad even let Judson get up and pretend to drive one of them!!
 Both ambluances
My parents also have a little bike at their house that other grandkids have used.  I thought maybe Judson would like to try it because he is always telling me he wants a bike.  Well it was a little harder than the thought! Riding a trike is a whole different peddling motion than riding a bike.  He also just kept pushing back on the break because the thought that was so cool! :)
My parents found him a bike at a garage sale so we can have one here, and one that is a little more manly! :) So once he has one to ride more often I am sure he will pick up the new skill and love it!

Father's Day

I know, I know!! I am way behind on blogging...but I am working on it! :)
So last year on Father's Day we took Nate and fed the ducks, so this year we went again.  It is such a fun and peaceful time.  Just a little big of a get away from the business of life.  And just time as a family!! Judson LOVES to feed the ducks and Lawson was really enjoying watching too!

Pool fun

 I JUST LOVE THESE BOYS!!!
It has been so hot here, as it has been everywhere!, so we have been trying to stay cool!
So one afternoon we did the pool in the front yard
To get Lawson used to the water Judson filled up containers that he could splash in
Lawson liked it, but it was COLD water! :)

Judson also thought we should try out the sprinkler, but it was not as much fun without friends to run through it with him.

Once Lawson warmed up to the idea of the water we put him in the pool and he LOVED it.
I was not sure if he would or not because Judson always hated the water as a baby.

Trip to Michigan

So in June we took a trip up to Michigan to see Nolan and Alyssa.  We decided to leave on a Wednesday night once Nate got home from work.  That night we drove to Davenport (where I grew up) and stayed with some friends that have always been like another set of grandparents to me.
I was a little worried how the boys would be in such a non kid proof house!! But they did great and it was so nice to catch up a little with Travis and Jo!!

The next morning we grabbed some chick-fil-a and headed out.  From Davenport it is about 5 hours, but of course traveling with a 3 year old and baby everything takes a little longer!

Just liked being in his new carseat because he could reach is toys and move around a little more, but it made it harder to sleep!! The poor kid was all slumped over.  I finally was able to move him and get a pillow under him.
Taking a little break in the afternoons.  A friend had given us a new Backyardagans movie, so it was perfect for Judson to watch when he would normally be resting at home!
We did some walking around the downtown area and Judson really liked the fountain and really wanted to get in! :)

He did end up wet to his armpits! But dried soon enough.
Trying to keep a 3 year old busy and out of trouble at an apartment of people that do not have kids of their own was easier said then done.  So Uncle Nolan and Dadda to the rescue.  The "explored the backyard and kicked a soccer ball around a bit.
It was a great trip!! Great to see Nolan and Alyssa, fun to see where they live now and so much fun to see Alyssa's new office!!
