He may look like his daddy...

but he has a lot of my traits. Well there are similarities between him and me that is. Three that I have noticed so far. As you can see from the picture Judson has started sucking his thumb. We are trying not to encourage this, but he loves to suck that thumb. And it is so so cute when he does it!! I sucked my thumb and know how hard my mom and dad had to work with me to stop. It was not easy for them, and it was not easy to give up! As for Judson we will just have to see what happens. He still takes his pacifier well, but sometimes spits it out to find his thumb. He also loves to sleep on his side, which is like me, though we always put him sleep on his back. If he is not sleeping in his sleep positioner he often ends up on his side. The third way...my dad will love this one! Judson's eyes "disappear" when he smiles real big. I have always been told that this happens to me too, mostly by my dad. It is cute when Judson does it though!

So I know that he looks like his dad, but I am glad that Judson is not only like Nate. It is fun to share some commonalities with my son!

Continued Adventure

There have been many changes that have taken place in my life in the last year and the newest change happened today. So this year really has been an adventure, there has been change after change since last April. There are just always things that are changing and ways that God is growing me.

So what is this newest change in the adventure you ask... well, I have decided to do in home daycare. This is something that I always knew I wanted to do, but it has always been just something that I have talked about. As of today though I am actually doing it.

I have one baby for now and will see how it goes and then possibly add more children in the future. The baby that I started watching today is just a week younger than Judson. I used to teach with her mom and will watch her for the rest of this school year and then next school year too. I am very excited to have this opportunity to stay home with Judson and to be able to watch Ellie!

They will be great friends!! They already are "talking" up a storm!!

6 Week Pictures

Here are just a few of the pictures that we had taken of Judson. He is already six weeks old so we wanted to get some professional pictures taken. The photographer was great. But he took 66 pictures so it was very hard to decide which pictures to buy. It was very nice though because with the package of pictures we bought we received a CD with all 66 pictures on it. Here are just a few of those pictures.

First Bottle

We gave Judson his first bottle yesterday (Saturday) he did a really good job. It was fun for Nate to be able to feed him, and it was nice for me to have a break. I was unsure what to do with myself though.

Visitors from Washington

Here we are, Xander was not very happy though. He had already been in the car for 4 1/2 hours to come see us, then we made him have a photo shoot before he had to get back in the car. It was a long day for the little guy!

They do not know it yet, but they will be great friends!!

I was so excited when my best friend Laura Beth said she was going to come visit while she was in Kansas with her family. She has had the trip planned for awhile but it finally came! Laura Beth and Xander (her three month old son) came to visit on Wednesday. It was so great to see them both and to meet Xander for the first time. Here are some pictures from that visit.

Tummy Time

Now he is just showing off!! Look at how strong he thinks he is, I am pretty sure that he does not realize that he is only a month old.

One month appointment

Well I took Judson in for his one month appointment today... he is 22 inches long and weighs 10 pounds 7 ounces! He is really growing and changing so much everyday. He is lifting his head and looking around, checking everything out! He loves to look at lights and turns toward where sounds are coming from. Judson is starting to coo and make new sounds, he also is starting to smile and hold eye contact for short periods of time. He is a great sleeper and a good eater. He has Nate and I very spoiled, we are very blessed to have such an amazing baby boy!!
