POOL TIME!!!

 We were invited to go to the pool with friends after nap time one day.  It was our first time to be at the actually pool this summer!

 It was so so much fun!! And makes me think that next year maybe we need a pool pass!! Or atleast the punch card!

 Both boys had a great time cooling off in the water.  This pool is zero entry so that is so great for Lawson and makes it more relaxed for me too!

 There is a small slide that the kids can go down by themselves.  Judson LOVED it.  He would slide down run around and do it all again as Lawson and I sat, splashed and watched him.

There are also two larger slides that Judson could go down as long as he was with me.  My friend Jessica watch Lawson so I could take him one time.  But one time was not enough.  Judson was trying to figure out ways that we could just keep going and going!  I told him that next time we would bring dad!! :)

Once we were done playing in the water we went out to the parking lot found a shaded spot and had a picnic.  It was a great way to spend some of our time while Nate was out of town!

 Even though there are days that I am so worn out, and nights that I wish I could sleep through the noises they make or Judson needing to get up to go to the bath room, I am so so blessed to have these two boys in my life and to be able to stay home with them!!

 After we took pictures of the three of us Judson wanted to try to take some... so here they are!

Parade

 The other weekend we went to a parade here in Ankeny.  It was not the greatest parade, but the boys still enjoyed it and it was great to spend some time as a family!! 

This first picture is of the cheerleaders.  A girl from our youth group and who we use as our babysitter is the one in front.  It was hard to get a good shot because she was on the other side of the street from us.

 Nate is such a great dad.  He brought a chair to sit in, but instead sat on the ground so that he and Judson could be closer to the action.

 It was a pretty hot day, and these guys had to be be so hot in their head to toe gold spandex!

The kids is EVERYWHERE!!

 Now that Lawson is crawling you never know where you are going to find him, or what you are going to find him in/with!

Playdate

 The other day Lawson had a friend over to play!! This is Wyatt that I used to watch on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.  I do not anymore because his mom has decided to stay home as well!! Anyway, it was so fun to get the boys together again.  They are getting so big and are so much fun to watch interact!! Lawson is 8 1/2 months old and Wyatt is 6 months old.  I know they will grow up to be good buddies!!

Icecream time

 The other night Nate took us all out for icecream.

It was such a nice treat on a hot day!! 

And it had been such a busy week that it was REALLY nice to spend some time as a family.

 Of course it was so hot that Judson's icecream was melting EVERYWHERE!!!

 But to make matters worse he just really wanted to eat the cone, so he took a big bite out of the bottom.

 It was so hard to no just laugh at him the whole time because icecream was just going everywhere!! 

But he loved it so much!

 While we all enjoyed our treat, Lawson enjoyed crawling around the table

More creative outside time

 When we are outside I have learned that Lawson LOVES to be in the exasaucer!!

He does not really love it inside but outside will sit and play for a long time!! 

He likes having toys to play with, but also being able watch Judson and the other neighbor kids play. 

I like that he is stuck in one spot!! :)

 The other day Judson was handed down some play doh toys from some neighbor friends.  

So the of course he really wanted to play with them!  

Play doh is so great, but so messy.

 So we decided to take it outside and that worked so great!!

We found some shade in the front yard.  Judson got to play, I got to sit and read a little!! 

(I know right, what a miracle!! Read a book of my own. )  

And the even better part, all the mess stayed outside!!

 This day Lawson was hanging out inside with Nate, but still wanted to see what was going on.

 He likes to sit at the front door and watch the world go by!

Our new way to stay cool

 As EVERYONE knows it has been a super HOT summer!!

 We have not spent much time at the pool because it is hard with a baby.  Even though Lawson LOVES the water I am not sure how comfortable I am with taking them by myself.  And even at the pool it would be so hot, and it the back yard there is at least some shade!

 So Judson's new favorite activity is to fill up the little baby pool at the bottom of the little slide.  Both these things are really to small for him.  But on a hot day they work out great!! 

We have even had some of the neighbor kids over to play too.

 This has been a great way to spend some time outside, Judson to use up some energy and to 

get away from the T.V. and other technological things. 

 But even with all the watering between the pool and the sprinkler our lawn is still nasty and brown!!
